On April 26, 2018, Kentucky became the first state to enact into law an NPO bill that created an explicit equal shared parenting presumption. The following year, Kentucky became the first state to proclaim April 26 to be “Shared Parenting Day”. Since then, five other states have joined Kentucky in recognizing the value of shared parenting with formal declarations of Shared Parenting Day.
